The Venetian cutaway (photo on left) is often found on "jazz" guitars. The treble side is made from one piece of wood, bent into a flowing shape.
The Florentine cutaway (photo on right) is a sharp reversal of direction in the treble side. The side is cut at the point, and the short piece is bent into a "U" shape.
On all Running Dog cutaways, the neck heel is faired into the cutaway so there is no edge or exposed lip to catch your hand.
